How to reduce heat without Air Conditioning? Check tips!

    Air Conditioning

Undoubtedly, with the advent of summer, we know that it doesn’t spare anyone, from north to south of planet earth, temperatures in some regions are hovering around 40 °C — that’s when we are not hit by heat waves. In addition, those who live in coastal regions can still count on the sea breeze to relieve the heat, other people turn to air conditioners.

However, most people need to innovate or find a way to suffer less from high temperatures, which make us sweat and get in the way of even the most common tasks – such as sleeping. Difficult, isn’t it? The good news I can bring you here at Super Info is that there are simple changes you can make to your home decor to lower the temperature in the rooms. Check out some tips below.

    1 – Invest in Cotton

Cotton is the best choice for your bed sheets, especially in summer or in warmer weather. Satin and silk may feel fresher because of their icy feel, but they actually warm up more. However, cotton, allows your body to breathe, in addition to contributing to the circulation of air in the environment, as it is a natural fiber.

Another really cool tip is that to be able to sleep in the heat, put your sheets in the fridge — wrapped in a plastic bag, of course. The cool feeling doesn’t last all night, but it should be enough for you to relax and fall asleep.

2 – Avoid Raising the Heat

Surely what you want most, specifically in summer, is to ease the heat — not increase it, right? However, there are several things we do to make this situation worse without realizing it. Lights, for example, Swap warm-colored light bulbs for cool lights, such as LED strips.

Still, turn off as many electronics as you can, as they collect heat even when not in use. It’s also a good idea to avoid the use of ovens – use them to make a cold salad or make meals that can be prepared in the microwave.

3 – Have Plants and Green Areas

You didn’t read it wrong! Having and taking care of plants are great allies in the fight against heat indoors, as they help to cool the environment. Spread them around the decor and observe how your home will become more comfortable. In addition, another interesting tip, in this sense, is to humidify the air in the environment. For this, you can use humidifiers or improvise, spreading buckets of water or wet towels on the floor.

4 – Minimalist and Smart Decoration

It may not seem like it, but rugs and pillows add value to your living room decor, they also retain heat, even more so if they are made of warm fabrics such as velvet. So, keep all these items in a closet and make your home more minimalist so that it has a more balanced temperature.

Also, wherever decor is essential — such as window curtains — swap heavy fabric models for lighter ones, such as cotton. It is also valid to choose items in lighter colors, which reflect light and heat, rather than retaining them.

And you, what did you think of our recommendation on how to reduce the heat without air conditioning?
