Recently, Netflix announced a major loss of subscribers for the first time in over a decade, with the numbers from the first quarter of 2022 ending a streak of records and successes.
According to the company’s financial data, over 200,000 people stopped being members of the service between January and March of this year worldwide. But what’s really happening with Netflix? Is it the end? Is it the competition? I decided to discuss it!
Well, according to analysts, the forecast is for even bigger declines, with financial results suggesting that the drop in subscriber numbers could reach up to two million in the current period, which ends in June.
For a company listed on the stock market, this reflects the end of social isolation caused by the pandemic and, in part, the sharing of accounts among users.
However, the expectation was for growth of around 2.5 million members, less than half of what was achieved in the same quarter in 2021. What do you think is going on? Check out this episode and share it with your friends! 🙂
