In Just Dance 2015, we can literally see that the game continues to heavily invest in current hits, mixing them with classic songs, regional music, and hits from other eras. In the new version, we can observe a considerable change in the interface, new features, and other novelties.

Just Dance continues to maintain its powerful core, which is often the key to the game’s success, made up basically of chart-topping hits, fun choreographies, and an amazing scoring system. Moreover, the latest Just Dance titles have undergone few changes and are responsible for maintaining a loyal player base.

The new Just Dance 2015 is celebrated mainly for its music arsenal, choreographed for players to dance and have fun. In terms of game mechanics, Ubisoft nailed it by not altering the core mechanics, simply adding innovations around it, such as in this version, which makes the game even more social and fun.

Presenting a highly varied repertoire of songs that are chart-toppers is a standard that should be fixed on the Ubisoft developers’ wall, as the song list is the most anticipated new feature in every Just Dance release, and this one doesn’t disappoint in this regard.

Speaking of music, the new title features a wide variety of songs for all tastes, including recently released tracks such as Bang Bang by Jessie J, Nicki Minaj, and Ariana Grande, Maps by Maroon Five, and Bailando by Enrique Iglesias, among others.

Several songs that were hits throughout the year also appear in the game, such as the big hit Let It Go from the movie Frozen, Best Song Ever by One Direction, Burn by Ellie Goulding, She Looks Perfect by 5 Seconds of Summer, Dark Horse by Katy Perry, Problem by Ariana Grande, and I Love It by Icona Pop and Charli XCX.

To make things even more fun, there are also several older hit songs, like Bad Romance by Lady Gaga, Macarena by The Girly Team, Never Can Say Goodbye by Gloria Gaynor, as well as exotic songs like The Fox by Ylvis, classic tunes like Only You by Love Letter, and even an Indian Christmas song (XMas Tree by Bollywood Santa).

It’s clear that the new game in the franchise continues to offer options for a variety of people and musical tastes. Even with a traditional version for children (Just Dance Kids), the game also features choreographies for the little ones and songs for older adults, for example.

This vast music collection is a big win for the new Just Dance 2015. Ubisoft knows that the game’s audience is casual and diverse, and so they need to reflect this in their song selection to ensure everyone has their precious moment as dancers in front of the TV.

In Just Dance 2015, it doesn’t matter if you’re the type who likes to dance casually or prefers to train until you achieve true perfection: no matter your preference, Just Dance 2015 continues to present choreographies for those who just want to relax a little and for those who want to push themselves and train to the maximum.

Additionally, just like in Just Dance 2014, each song has alternative choreography versions, which can be purchased with the well-known Mojo – the game’s currency and/or earned as you dance and score high on a specific song. You can even dance while sitting, but it’s almost impossible!

Just Dance continues to feature its traditional scoring style since the first version, with few changes over the years in this regard. The same applies to Just Dance 2015. You earn points every time you get the steps right and can earn stars as you hit certain numerical levels and records.

Additionally, singing the lyrics to a song can make a difference in some versions, such as for Xbox One. Some choreographies even have exclusive modes where one person can sing while the others dance, awarding additional points. It’s a fantastic opportunity to improve your English and/or just enjoy the lyrics of the song.

Just Dance 2015 also includes user participation through videos. The Autodance feature, for example, has been slightly revamped and continues at the end of the choreographies, showing some clips of the dance through an automatically created video, ensuring even more fun for the players.

Here’s a new feature! The Community Remix allows players to become choreographers. Using your console’s camera (except Wii and Wii U), you can record your performance of a specific song. The community will vote on their favorite performances, and the development team will create a playable remix version with 15 to 30 players from all over the world.

The Just Dance series has long since stopped being a traditional competition between people present. Proof of this is the Challenger mode introduced in this new edition, which allows you to compete with your friends and people online, even if they aren’t physically or online with you (yes!).

In all songs, you can track the performance through your “opponents’” scores, a great feature for those who enjoy competing with other players. Moreover, if needed, the Challenger mode can be activated or deactivated directly on the choreography screen. The game automatically selects the opponents.

In addition to checking the local ranking for each song, you can check the weekly ranking for your country and the global weekly ranking, further promoting competition, as you have a chance to feature on this list every week, making the game even more competitive and fun.

Another big novelty in this new version is that an unlimited number of people can play Just Dance 2015 through the Controller app, launched for Android and iOS. The functionality is simple: just download the app, connect to the console, choose the song, and play. However, when choosing this method, Kinect, for example, is deactivated.

Summary

The new Just Dance is more than the same. The fact that the game maintains what has been working for six years is undoubtedly a good move by Ubisoft, which seeks to innovate around the core of the game, which is made up of choreography, hits and scoring.

During our entire analysis on the Xbox One, we found few problems, leaving plenty of fun with well-organized choreography for all tastes, packed with hits from the present and the past. And the competition has taken root everywhere, in various ways, making the game more challenging for those who enjoy this competitive mode.
