How to use an Amiibo on the Nintendo Switch

Amiibos are collectible Nintendo figures that are equipped with NFC chips, allowing players to interact with their games in a variety of ways. O Nintendo Switch is Amiibo compatible, allowing players to use the figures to unlock content, obtain rewards, and customize their games. In this article, we will discuss how to use an Amiibo on Nintendo Switch.

Make sure your game is Amiibo compatible

Before using an Amiibo, it is important to check that your game supports the use of Amiibos. Most popular Nintendo Switch games, such as Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 2, are compatible with Amiibos.

Activate the NFC function on the console

The Nintendo Switch has a built-in NFC function that allows players to use their Amiibos. To activate the NFC function, you need to go to the console settings and select “Controls and Sensors”. There, you will find the option “Near Field Communication (NFC)” and you can activate it.

Move the Amiibo closer to the controller

To use the Amiibo, you’ll need to bring the figure closer to the Nintendo Switch controller. Depending on the game, you may need to use a specific controller, like the right Joy-Con, which has a built-in NFC sensor. If you’re using a Pro controller or a third-party controller, you’ll need to use the right Joy-Con’s NFC reader.

Follow the instructions on the screen

Once you bring the Amiibo close to the controller, the game will display on-screen instructions on how to use it. This could include unlocking special content, earning rewards, or customizing your character. Each game has different ways to use Amiibos, so it’s important to follow the on-screen instructions.

Use your Amiibo in different games

One of the best things about Amiibos is that they can be used in multiple games. For example, if you have a Mario Amiibo, you can use it in games like Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, and others. Also, each game has different features that you can unlock using an Amiibo, so it’s important to experiment and see how your Amiibo can enhance your gaming experience.

In short, using an Amiibo in Nintendo Switch it’s a fun way to unlock exclusive content, earn rewards, and customize your games.

Remember to check that your game supports Amiibos and follow the on-screen instructions to use your Amiibo correctly. With Amiibos, you can expand the gameplay of your favorite games and have an even more exciting gaming experience.
