How to add friends on Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch is a popular gaming console that offers players a wide variety of games to choose from and play with friends. Adding friends to your Nintendo Switch is a fun way to connect and play with others around the world. In this article, we’ll teach you step-by-step how to add friends on Nintendo Switch.

Step 1: Access the user’s menu

The first step to adding friends on Nintendo Switch is accessing the user’s menu. To do this, turn on your Switch and select the user icon in the upper left corner of the home screen. This should open your console’s user menu.

Step 2: Select the option “Add friend”

After accessing the user’s menu, you should see the “Add friend” option at the bottom of the screen. Select this option and Switch will take you to a new screen.

Step 3: Choose the add friend method

Nintendo Switch offers two different ways to add friends: through the friend code or using a Nintendo Account. If you already know the friend code of the person you want to add, select the “Search with friend code” option. If you don’t know the friend code, you can choose “Search with Nintendo Account”.

Step 4: Add friend with friend code

If you chose “Search with Friend Code”, enter the 12-digit code of the friend you want to add. Make sure the friend code is correct as the friend addition will not complete if the code is incorrect.

Step 5: Add a friend with a Nintendo Account

If you choose “Search with Nintendo Account”, Switch will take you to a new screen where you can enter the username or email address of the person you want to add. If the person has a Nintendo Account, it will appear in the search results. Select the correct profile and add it to your friend’s list.

Step 6: Accept friend requests

If you’ve sent someone a friend request, they’ll need to accept it before you can play with them. Likewise, if someone has sent you a friend request, you’ll need to accept it before you can play with them.

To accept friend requests, go to the “Incoming requests” option in the user’s menu. Select the friend request you want to accept and press the “Accept” button.
