Review: LEGO Marvel Avengers

Has arrived! LEGO Marvel Avengers came to be the definitive version for fans of Avengers movies and LEGO dolls. After adapting classics like Harry Potter, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, LEGO decided to bet on Marvel heroes again after the fun and respected LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.

With the box office success in the Avengers movie, LEGO Marvel's Avengers takes advantage of the success to create a fun experience for fans of the heroes. The game has a large number of characters available and a lot of content to be explored, but it also brings some problems.

Initially, the game begins by recreating the initial scene of Avengers: The Age of Ultron, with the group of heroes attacking the HYDRA base. The game makes a point of reproducing all the great landmarks seen in cinema, such as the captain America killing and throwing your vehicle at enemies or even the traditional jump that the Avengers give you in slow motion.

For fans, having these moments in the game is really fun, although they get a little tiring after a while, if you know the adventures of heroes in cinema. This is because the plot of the game covers six films (two from captain America, Thor the Dark World, Iron Man 3 and the two Avengers) in a way not linear. This means that the game places the player in a section of another film.

If you've had fun in an old LEGO game, you know exactly how the new title works. In the control of two characters, you explore a good part of the scenario, destroying everything ahead to win pieces, solving small and large puzzles along the way.

A novelty in LEGO Marvel's Avengers is the improvement in the combat system and the inclusion of combos between characters. Previously, LEGO fights were all about frantically hitting the attack button. From now on, you can have a better view of what you are doing, mainly by including small “Quick Time Events”In the fighting.

On the other hand, when you are fighting, a warning appears over the opponent's head. If you press the indicated button, a short animation in which you eliminate the opponent is activated. This gives you greater awareness and perspective on what you are doing during combat.

In addition, another novelty worth mentioning is the combos between the characters, which are closely related to what was shown in the Marvel films. At some point, you may be controlling Thor and Captain America and playing a double attack, in which the “God of thunder”Hits the Captain's shield, creating a wave that eliminates everyone around him.

After you finish the main campaign, you can explore much of New York City, doing various missions and unlocking different characters from the Marvel Universe. As happened in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, this creates an absurd “replay” factor for the game, making you run around fictional New York for hours and hours on end.

Another interesting point of the game is the fact that the characters' lines were taken from the films, then, some dialogues are reproduced exactly. The problem is that, at certain times, they seem somewhat out of place with the rest of the environment, making it clear that that is a recording for a different scene, but it was reused unduly.

The game's graphics make clear a good evolution, and LEGO Marvel's Avengers it is probably one of the most beautiful LEGO games to date. From the settings to the details of the 200 characters, which you can control, everything creates an incredible presentation for fans and beginners in the Marvel Universe.

My Opinion
  • Graphics
  • Interface
  • Fun
  • Gameplay
  • Functionalities
4.5

Conclusion

LEGO Marvel's Avengers is a game that could be aimed at fans, but manages to have as much fun as other LEGO adaptations. Although not as innovative as LEGO Dimensions, for example, Avengers manages to hit the nail on the head in terms of fun and perspective, creating a very fun experience for all ages.

And you, what do you think of the new LEGO game?
